Meet The Doctors

Dr. Craig Curtis, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Maricopa

Dr. Craig Curtis was born in Price, Utah, and grew up in Orangeville, Utah (population 500) and later in South Phoenix. He currently lives in Maricopa, AZ. He attended Mesa Community College, Hope International University, and BYU. He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in L.A. with his Doctors of Chiropractic Degree in 1981.

Dr. Curtis joined The Joint Chiropractic in August 2021. He says the best part about being in the chiropractic profession is the people he gets to work with; the doctors, staff, and of course the patients.

When he’s not working Dr. Curtis enjoys writing, welding, woodworking, and hiking. The coolest thing he has ever done was write eleven novels and two non-fiction books. All novels have been published and six of them have been number one bestsellers on Amazon.

Dr. Almanza is originally from Moline, Illinois part of the Quad Cities. Following a 6-year enlistment from the US Navy he attended Black Hawk College in Moline where he studied Pre-Chiropractic. Following his undergraduate studies Dr. Almanza was accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa the Fountainhead of Chiropractic

After graduating from Palmer College Dr. Almanza joined his family in Arizona, where he has practiced mostly in the personal injury field. During his off time, he enjoys biking, working out, listening to music and watching movies. Dr. Almanza also loves to travel he has been to India, Maldives, Philippines, Alaska, Hawaii, and Mexico. He is also an avid sports fan, he is a die hard Chicago Sports fan and has attended many baseball, football, and basketball games.

Dr. Rick Shaikewitz, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Maricopa

Dr. Shaikewitz was born in St. Louis, Mo where he attended the University of Missouri earning a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing.

Out of college he was an insurance agent & broker and later, a 2nd Vice President of a furniture store he helped run.

In 1991 he recieved his Doctor of Chiropractic and Physical Medicine Modalities and Therapeutic Procedures degree from Logan College of Chiropractic and started his own practice in January of 1992 here in Chandler, AZ.

Later in 1995 attained additional credentialing as Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP).

His Chiropractic techniques include, Diversified, Drop Table and Activator. He also provides patient education on the prevention (including proper bio-mechanics) and the care of injuries.

During high school he lettered in football, wrestling and track and was the captain of the wrestling team.                

               

In high school, college and here in Phoenix he participated and played in a number of racquetball groups & leagues and placed in a number of tournaments.

While in college he participated in many of the intermural sports and in the early 1990's, founded and played on 2 co-ed Field Hockey teams here in Phoenix (The Arizona State Field Hockey Club and the Phoenix Scorpions).

He not only treated those field hockey players as needed, but also a relief pitcher for professional baseball team and a member of a world famous band.

He also worked with the Arizona Football Cardinal Video crew taking photo faxes of each play to the players and coaches on the field at the home games for the last 12 years before they left Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe and moved to Glendale.

He had his national acting debut (or lack their of) being featured on an episode of the TV show COPS when it was on TV.

It shows him being extricated from his car with the “Jaws of Life” after being hit "head on" by another driver who was impaired by alcohol and Methamphetamine.

A year after the incident to prove he was rehabilitating correctly, he participated in the Senior Olympics in track and racquetball.
